Why most movies now aren't worth a watch
My likes ❤️
I love watching movies that give me anxiety. Movies that are mysterious. The best thing about them is that they keep you engrossed. If that’s not the case then I’ll probably get lost. The perfect examples would be the Netflix series “Black Mirror”. It has sci-fi, thrill and most of the things I’d love to see in a movie. I also like a little bit drama and comedy movies.
My dislikes 😒
I straight up hate watching most action movies with stupid chase scenes and senseless action scenes. I don’t like things flying around unless it’s a science fiction where it actually makes a little sense. Remember how John Wick became worse and worse with every subsequent release? Donnie Yen as a blind guy who sees everything despite being blind? That caught my attention more than the movie. Things like these just stay in the back of your mind with the fact that it’s kinda stupid and then they ruin the entire movie. Here are some of my favorites either ways:
- The greatest showman(Great soundtrack btw)
- Bonnie & Clyde(Sane car chase scenes)
- Into the wild
- and many more…
Movies nowadays
We’ve been getting a lot of movies that involve an extremely clean setup. Like washed out jokes because someone might get offended, dumbed down emotional lines that are shoved in wherever unnecessary, and mostly teenage stuff.
But this year seems great for movies. We’ve had some great releases already:
- Oppenheimer
- Past lives
- Umm… Maybe not that many
I’m excited for the upcoming Deadpool movie. Just raw gore and violence. Not giving a damn about someone getting offended. That’s what movies are for. The creative freedom in movies is what makes a great movie.
